The King James Version in National Geographic

In the December 2011 edition of National Geographic with the cover story 'The King James Bible Making a Masterpiece' an article noting the 400th anniversary of the printing of the King James Bible was published.

This article entitled 'The Bible of King James' by Adam Nicolson provides an interesting look at the origin of what we know as the KJV or King James Version and it's influence since publication.

I think that the article, published in a secular magazine, is a good starting point for persons wishing to know a bit more about the history of the bible without the religiosity which some might find offensive.
"First printed 400 years, it molded the English language, buttressed the "power that be" -one of it's famous phrases- and yet enshrined a gospel of individual freedom. No other book has given more to the English-speaking world."
